Elvira G. Higginbottom

Daughter of Serferino R. Garcia & Sara R. Rios.  Grandaughter of first hispanic pioneer of the 1800.  Grandmother Bernardina Ramon came to ozona in a covered wagon in the 1800 and settled in Ozona.

Elvira Higginbottom, 85, went to be with her Heavenly Father and loved ones on Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2007 at Shannon Medical Center due to a short
illness. She was bom on Nov. 19, 1922 in Ozona to Serferino R. Garcia and Sara R. Rios. She was the granddaughter of the first Hispanic pioneer of the
1800s. Her grandmother, Bernardina Ramon, came to Ozona in a covered wagon in the 1800s and settled in Ozona. Services were held Friday,
Dec. 28, 2007, at Templo Bautista Jerusalem. Arrangements are by Preddy Funeral Home.

Elvira was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Sr.; two sons, Walter Jr. and Henry Sanchez; one daughter, Elva R. Navarro; her parents, Seferino
Garcia and Sara Rios and one brother, Silvestre Garcia Sr. Survivors include five sons, Valentin Gonzales and wife Elfida of Rocksprings, Robert
Flores Sr. and wife Mela and Oscar Flores and wife Cynthia, all of Ozona, Ronald Higginbottom Sr. and wife Jennifer of Wagram, N.C., and Donald Higginbottom and wife Diane of Round Rock; two daughters, Patsy Gutierrez
and husband Emilio and Janell H. Tambunga and husband Jimmy, both of Ozona and two sisters Armenta Sanchez and husband Filiburto and Maria
(Mamca) Vitela and husband Napo, all of Ozona. She is also survived by 38 grandchildren, 77 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren and
numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were her grandsons;
Sotero H. Fuentes IV of Midland, Ronald Higginbottom Jr. of Wagram, N.C., Michael Evans of Midland, Oscar David Gonzales of Rocksprings, Robert
Flores Jr. of Corpus Christi and Larry Hogeda Jr. of San Angelo. Honorary pallbearers were the rest of her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed
by all who loved her and she leaves a huge void in our hearts. “Mom, you’ll always be in our thoughts and our hearts!”
